Andrew received his undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University in 2010. He then received his Master’s of Science in Human Genetics at Tulane University School of Medicine where he studied behavioral neuropharmacology in the lab of Dr. Allan Kalueff. He attended medical school at Texas Tech University, graduating in 2016 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University in 2019. While at Emory, Andrew developed a clinical interest in HIV infection and worked in the lab of Dr. David Guidot where he studied the role of HIV in chronic lung disease. Andrew came to Washington University in Saint Louis in 2019 and started his fellowship in Pulmonology and Critical Care. He joined the Philips Lab in January 2021 where he is studying how macrophage and T cell interactions shape the immune response to infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
