Ekansh obtained his undergraduate degree in Biotechnoloy from the Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. He worked on his dissertation at the National Institute of Immunology in India and received his PhD in Biotechnology from the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, India. The focus of his PhD was “Investigation of Topology and Mechanism of Functions of Rv1694, TlyA protein of Mycobacterium tuberculosis”. He relocated from India to join the Jennifer A. Philips’s lab in November 2015. His current research projects include studying host-pathogen interactions that govern the ability of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to evade host immune defenses.
