Jalalah Muhammad received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Health and Medicine at Webster University in 2024. While attending Webster University, she conducted research under the advisory of Dr. Victoria Brown-Kennerly investigating the effects of lead exposure on Pogonomyrmex occidentalis ants. She cultivated an interest in infectious disease and immunology while participating in the MSTP Access Summer Program at Washington University in 2022. During which she had the privilege of working as an undergraduate student in Dr. Megan Cooper’s laboratory, where she characterized the functional consequences of a novel variant in a patient with T-LGL leukemia. Following her graduation, she joined Dr. Philips Lab to study the immune system’s response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, acquire research experience, and guidance on her pursuit in higher education.
